“Why doesn’t God always heal?” — hero question
Suggested caption
“Pastor, if God’s so good at healing, why doesn’t He just heal everybody?”
A soldier asked me that this week. Here’s how I answered him — from Scripture, from the hospital tent, and from the funerals I’ve buried friends through.

The Bible never promises you’ll never suffer.
It promises the God who walks with you through suffering is the same God who will finally heal it all.

Isaiah 53:5 — “With his wounds we are healed.”
Suggested caption
The deepest wound you carry has already been answered.
Isaiah saw it 700 years before the cross: “But he was pierced for our transgressions… and with his wounds we are healed.”
Spiritual healing > physical healing — because spiritual healing is the only one that lasts forever.

Four ways God answers a healing prayer
Suggested caption
There are at least four ways God answers a healing prayer.
If you only count the first one, every funeral feels like a defeat. That’s not Christian theology. That’s prosperity gospel — and it has broken more believers than I can count.
The God of the Bible is bigger than the first row.

Feed · 1:1 · 1080×1080 · Scripture quote
2 Corinthians 12:9 — “My grace is sufficient for you.”
Suggested caption
Paul prayed three times. God didn’t remove it.
He said this instead:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
If unanswered healing prayer means lack of faith — Paul didn’t have enough. Neither did Timothy. Neither did Trophimus. Faith isn’t a lever you pull to force God’s hand. Faith is trust in the One who heals on His timing.
